Itinerary

Day 1

Flights to Zagreb.

Transfer from airport and 1.5hrs transfer to the start hotel in Ptuj Slovenia. Bike fitting, optional ride or walk.

Day 2

Ptuj (Slovenia) to Bad Radkersburg (Austria) - 50miles / 80km

We start the day cycling through quiet picturesque villages and gentle rolling hills. Our first stop after 27 km is at the top of a sharp hill. We cycle down to the border town of Radgona, following the River Mura trails for 20km, then we stop for refreshments at the newly transformed Water Mill on the Austrian side. The last part of the day is cycling in and out of woodlands and lakes onto Bad Radkersburg, a beautiful Medieval border town in Austria.

Day 3

Bad Radkersburg (Austria) to Memesnep (Hungary) - 52miles / 84km

We leave Bad Radkersburg cycling on flat terrain for the first 15km then its up into the Goricko national park where we cycle through orchards, meadows and fields overgrown with various cultivated crops, scattered like a mosaic and are harmoniously interwoven. They complement the settlements, villages and individual farms which form a unique appearance. At the top we rest and have a picnic at Grad Castle, then we continue to cycle through hilly terrain for the next 15km cycling around Bukovniško lake, through forests and into Hungary. Wildlife is here in abundance – we may see wild boar and deer.

Tonight, we stay in a country club nestled in the depths of the Hungarian forest with an outside swimming pool, sauna, tennis court and a fabulous restaurant.

Day 4

Memesnep to Gyrkavescap Croatia

Staying in Hungary for the first 20km, you will notice how different not just the landscape but also the houses are here compared to their neighbours. It’s flat with straight country lanes until we reach Lenti, where we re enter Slovenia and make a visit to Lendova. After leaving Lendova, it is a short trip to enter Croatia - so we visit three countries in one day.

For the final night we stay in high quality log cabins with access to thermal pools, a golf course and excellent sports facilities. Tonight, we dine out with superb home cooking and delicious wine from the garden!

Day 5

Transfer to Zagreb for return flight

After breakfast there will be a bus transfer back to Zagreb airport for the flight back to London.

Please note that hotels listed are subject to change, based on group requirements.
